Lahore News: DSP Suspended After Alleged Murder of Wife and Daughter

Lahore News – A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Lahore has been suspended after his arrest on charges of murdering his wife and daughter, a case that has sent shockwaves through law enforcement circles and the public alike.

According to an official notification issued in Lahore, DSP Usman Haider was suspended by the Inspector General of Police (IG) Punjab on the recommendation of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore. The action follows his arrest in connection with the alleged killing of his wife and minor daughter.

Police officials have confirmed that DSP Usman Haider has admitted to the crime during initial interrogation. DIG Zeeshan Raza stated that the suspect confessed to killing his wife and daughter by firing at them. In a shocking revelation, it also emerged that the accused had registered a missing persons FIR for his wife and daughter at Burki Police Station about a month ago, allegedly to divert suspicion.

According to Lahore News Live, the daughter’s body has been recovered from the Kahna area, while the wife’s body was found in Sheikhupura. Both bodies were shifted for post-mortem examinations, and forensic evidence has been collected to strengthen the case.

Meanwhile, police sources say that further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the killings and whether any other individuals were involved or had prior knowledge of the crime. The accused has been handed over to the investigation team, and legal proceedings are ongoing following court approval for physical remand.

Punjab Police authorities have also initiated a separate departmental inquiry against the suspended DSP. Officials have emphasized that the law will take its course and that no one is above accountability, regardless of rank or position.

The case has drawn widespread condemnation, with civil society and rights groups calling for a transparent investigation and strict punishment if the charges are proven in court.
