Chichawatni: Major Crackdown Launched Against Illegal Gas Refilling Stations

CHICHAWATNI (Staff Reporter) – In a decisive move to ensure public safety, the Chichawatni district administration has launched a grand operation against illegal LPG gas refilling stations across various parts of the city.
Grand Operation Details
Acting on the special directives of Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni, Javed Mumtaz Lakhwera, a dedicated team led by Enforcement Officer PERA Force, Mohsin Iqbal, conducted raids in several commercial and residential areas.
During the operation, multiple shopkeepers found engaged in the hazardous practice of illegal gas decanting (transferring gas between cylinders) were apprehended. The enforcement teams:
Imposed heavy fines on several shops for violating safety protocols.
Confiscated substandard cylinders and decanting equipment.
Issued stern warnings to businesses operating without valid licenses from regulatory authorities.
No Compromise on Human Lives
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner and SDEO PERA Force emphasized that these operations are not one-off events but will continue on a daily basis. Officials stated that illegal refilling stations in densely populated areas act as “ticking time bombs,” posing a severe threat to the lives and property of citizens.
“Those playing with human lives deserve no leniency. Our priority is the safety of the public, and we are determined to eliminate these illegal businesses to prevent any catastrophic accidents.” — District Administration Statement
The administration has urged citizens to cooperate by reporting any illegal gas refilling activities in their neighborhoods to help maintain a safe environment.
