District Committee Reviews Human Trafficking, Bonded Labour

Additional Deputy Commissioner chaired the meeting to review the actions taken to eliminate human trafficking and bonded labour.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Niaz Ahmad Mughal chaired the meeting at Montgomery Hall, where officers from relevant departments participated.
The committee reviewed the actions taken to eliminate human trafficking and bonded labour across the district. Officers examined the current situation and assessed public awareness efforts. They discussed law enforcement operations, and evaluated ongoing rehabilitation projects for affected individuals.
ADC Niaz Ahmad Mughal stated that human trafficking and bonded labour are serious crimes. They not only violate human rights but also harm the country’s international image.
Niaz Ahmad instructed the concerned departments to strengthen labour inspections in factories, brick kilns, and other informal sectors. He also urged them to register all workers who are being deprived of their rights and to take concrete steps to improve their working conditions.
The committee also focused on preventing child labour. It directed relevant departments to identify children who are out of school and to persuade their parents to send them to school and prioritize education.
