CHICHAWATNI (Sahiwal News – Ali Raza Sindhu) – In a harrowing incident that has sent shockwaves through the region, two teenage sisters were gang-raped in Chak 13/11-L, Chichawatni. The perpetrators not only filmed the assault but also used the footage to blackmail and extort the victims’ family.
The Incident
According to the police report filed by the victims’ mother, Shahida Parveen, her daughters—18-year-old Tayyaba and 16-year-old Fizza—were walking to their fields on July 16 when they were intercepted.
Four armed men, identified as Kamran Masih, Mudassar Faisal Gujjar, Atiq Gujjar, and Waheed Sahu, allegedly abducted the girls at gunpoint and moved them into the nearby crops. The suspects then took turns committing the assault while recording the obscene act on a mobile phone.
Blackmail and Extortion
The brutality did not end with the assault. The accused sent the video to the victims’ family via WhatsApp to humiliate them and demand “hush money.”
Initial Extortion: The family initially paid Rs. 100,000 to the suspects out of fear.
Additional Demands: The suspects continued to harass the family, demanding an additional Rs. 200,000 in cash and gold jewelry.
Police Action and Arrests
Refusing to yield further to the threats, the mother approached the authorities. The Sadar Chichawatni Police swiftly registered a case under sections 375-A (Rape) and 292 (Disseminating obscene material) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In a rapid operation, the police arrested all four nominated suspects. During the initial interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime. The mobile device used to record the assault and the weapon used to threaten the girls have been taken into custody as evidence.
Community Concerns
This incident follows a troubling trend of rising crime in the area. Local residents have expressed deep concern over public safety, specifically citing two other recent incidents in the vicinity:
Acid Attack: A girl was recently remanded for an acid attack on a young man in Sahiwal.
Kassowal Stabbing: A youth was tragically stabbed to death in nearby Kassowal.
District authorities have assured the public that they are seeking the harshest possible legal penalties for the perpetrators to serve as a deterrent.
