Sahiwal – Special Judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Sahiwal, Ziaullah Khan, has rejected the bail application of Shahzad Akram, a provincial office-bearer of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik who was arrested in connection with protest-related cases.
According to the case details, on October 13, the accused, acting on a call by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik leadership, led a protest demonstration during which the bypass road was blocked. Protesters raised slogans against the government and delivered provocative speeches.
Following the incident, police registered a case against 60 office-bearers and workers under Section 16 MPO, Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, and other relevant provisions. In this case, 41 workers and office-bearers have been arrested and are currently in jail.
