Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni Launches Four-Day National Polio Eradication Campaign

Assistant Commissioner Chichawatni, Javed Mumtaz Lakhvera, formally inaugurated the four-day National Anti-Polio Campaign by administering polio drops to children and completing finger marking.
The polio vaccination drive will continue from December 15 to December 18, 2025. During the campaign, a total of 214,467 children under the age of five will be administered polio drops across the tehsil.
A total of 897 polio teams have been deployed to vaccinate children. Polio teams will also be stationed at entry and exit points of the tehsil, as well as at bus stands, to ensure maximum coverage.
The Assistant Commissioner urged parents to fulfill their responsibility by ensuring that their children receive polio drops, emphasizing that vaccination protects children from lifelong disability. He directed polio teams to work with dedication, commitment, and a strong sense of duty to achieve 100 percent coverage during the campaign.
He further instructed field staff to ensure accurate data entry on the digital dashboard and assured that full logistical support would be provided to polio teams. The AC warned that negligence or carelessness during the campaign would not be tolerated, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to a safe and healthy future for the next generation, with no compromise on children’s health and protection.
Deputy District Health Officer Dr. Asim Sheikh and media representatives were also present at the occasion.
