Arifwala: Man and Brother Torture Woman, Shave Her Head Over Domestic Dispute

PAKPATTAN (Correspondent): A horrific incident of domestic violence has surfaced in Village 137-EB, Tehsil Arifwala, where a man, assisted by his brother, allegedly subjected his wife to brutal torture and shaved her head.
Background of the Victim
According to reports, the victim, Meena Bibi, was married to Muhammad Imran nine years ago. The couple has a seven-year-old son named Ali.
For several years, Meena Bibi had been reporting her husband’s abusive behavior and frequent physical assault to her father, Abdul Majeed. She was often forced to seek refuge at her father’s house in Village 115-EB to escape the violence triggered by minor domestic arguments.
Details of the Recent Assault
The situation escalated on April 6 following a trivial dispute. Imran reportedly became enraged and summoned his brother, Muhammad Qurban. According to the victim’s statement:
Both suspects subjected her to a vicious physical assault.
At Imran’s behest, Qurban used scissors to cut Meena Bibi’s hair and forcibly shaved her head.
Following the torture, she was locked in a room to prevent her from seeking help.
Meena Bibi eventually managed to escape the confinement and reached her father’s house, where she recounted the ordeal.

The Ahmad Yar Police Station has registered a formal case against Imran and Qurban based on Meena Bibi’s complaint. The FIR includes several sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC):
