TTP Terrorist Arrested with Explosives in Sahiwal

CTD arrested a terrorist of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Muhammad Tahir Baloch, near the Zong Tower on Old Harappa Road Sahiwal.

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested him during a successful operation before he could carry out a terrorist attack.

From the suspect’s possession, CTD recovered a partially prepared IED inside a metallic box and a programmable card. An electric circuit, an electric detonator, a double charger battery, other explosive materials, and Rs. 4,320 in cash. His bag was also seized.

The arrested terrorist, Muhammad Tahir, son of Huzoor Bakhsh, is a resident of Nanji Meera Abad, Ibrahim Khalilullah Mosque, Hyderabad. He is an important operative of the banned TTP and also has another residence in Kotla Bakr Shah, Tehsil Ahmedpur East, District Bahawalpur.

He was identifying targets to execute a sabotage plan when CTD, acting on intelligence, raided the location and apprehended him.

CTD Police Station has registered a case under the Explosives Act Section 14/5 and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on the complaint of officer Azhar Hayat. The terrorist has been shifted to CTD Headquarters for investigation.
